How to fix split ends?
The truth is…the best and easiest way to eliminate split ends is to cut them off. Tips to Help Prevent Split Ends
- Get regular trims. Trimming at least an inch every 6–8 weeks can help keep split ends under control. The longer split ends are left untreated, the farther they can travel up the hair shaft, leading to additional damage and breakage.
- Detangle before showering. Gently comb through your hair with a Wet Pro Comb before getting it wet to remove knots and tangles. Tugging at wet hair can cause unnecessary breakage and splitting. You can also use the comb in the shower to evenly distribute conditioner from roots to ends.
- Rinse with cool water. Finish your shower with cooler water instead of hot water. This can help smooth the hair cuticle and reduce moisture loss, leaving hair looking smoother and healthier.
- Be gentle with wet hair. Hair is especially fragile when wet, so avoid pulling, jerking, or aggressively brushing through tangles. Use a Wet Brush to gently detangle your hair after showering. It’s also great to bring along to the beach or pool.
Your hair is your #1 accessory, so treat it with care! Regular trims, a good-quality shampoo and conditioner, gentle detangling, and limiting excessive heat styling can all help keep your hair healthy, smooth, and less prone to split ends.
