Makeup Brush Essentials
What’s a good makeup kit without good makeup brushes? The key to a flawless face is having good quality tools to help you achieve the look you want. Having good brushes at an affordable price makes it even better! Royal & Langnickel recently came out with a new line of affordable and quality brushes, MODA. Here’s a breakdown of some of our favorite brushes and their purposes:
Powder Brush: This bigger, fluffy brush will flawlessly apply loose or pressed powder all over the face. It can also be used to bronze the whole face with a few quick sweeps.
Blush Brush: This slightly smaller but still fluffy brush will apply blush color to the apples of the cheeks to give a nice wash of color to the face.
Multi-Purpose Powder Brush: This brush is truly the multi-purpose brush. It can do anything you need to do! It can not only apply mineral or loose powder, but it can be used to set under-eye concealer, apply blush to the apples of the cheeks, or it can be used for contouring. Its smaller and denser shape makes it easy to get into the hollows of your cheeks for precise contouring. Since it is smaller brush, it can also be used for highlighting the face and applying glow to the higher points of the face.
Stippler Brush: Stippling brushes also can be multi-purpose; they can be used for a number of reasons. One of the most popular uses for a stippling brush is applying and blending out cream and liquid foundations, along with BB and CC creams, for a blended look. It can also be used for blending out powder products to blend them in seamlessly.
Complexion Brush: This denser brush is perfect for applying cream, liquid or even powder foundations for a full coverage and flawless look. It can also blend out concealer underneath the eyes.
Contour Brush: This small and precise brush is perfect for giving you a chiseled and defined face instantly. It will contour your face, nose, jaw and forehead instantly to slim down the face.
Crease/Smudge Brush: Crease brushes are the ultimate do-everything brushes. They can do everything necessary to create natural or dramatic eye looks. They can be used for applying a wash of color on the lids or applying a wash of color into the crease. When applying color to the outer crease or all on the eyes, it can be used to blend out shadows effortlessly. Blending brushes do all of the work for you.
Highlighting Brush: Lately, highlighting has become a huge trend in the makeup world. To get an unbeatable glow, a good brush makes it easy to place your glow where you want it. The Highlight & Glow brush is just what you need to create that look. Its soft and round tip makes it easy to add dimension and a soft glow with just a few quick strokes and a great highlight!
